Love

A quote worth sharing: “Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you bec...

How Freedom is Working Against Us: Voicing our Opinions as Facts in the Modern World

I felt like my final paper for one of my classes this semester was worth posting on my blog.  Feel free to read or not to read.  I thought the message was too important not to share. How Freedom is Working Against Us: Voicing our Opinions as Facts in the Modern World              As humankind, we must agree that in order to keep a sense of morality and peace, we must concur that what the majority think is the correct way of thinking.   However, we are currently in a state of conflicting opinions—the majority is no longer one voice—also, minorities are able to get their voices heard so much more easily and widespread through the use of technology.   So, who do we listen to now?   This conundrum is why there has been a return to religion, especially traditional religions, where the written word is believed to be right.   While there is nothing wrong with believing our own interpretations of a religi...

It's Summer!!!!!

After a crazy past couple of weeks (and semester), it is finally summertime!  Even though it is only 56 degrees outside, it's still summer!!!!  Grades are in, my 4.0 remains and my Capstone paper was turned in on time. In a few short weeks I will be on my way to Slovakia and other countries in Europe.  I'm definitely planning on keeping a blog of my travels.  Keep an eye out for new posts! :)

My 15 Minutes of Fame

Image
Seeing as I probably never will get the chance to be in a major motion picture again, I felt the need to record my 15 minutes (milliseconds) of fame. Since the trailer for Perks came out, I've been watching it screen by screen to find all my friends and different areas of my high school, middle school, and my beautiful hometown, Pittsburgh.  So finally, I figured I'd just take a couple screen shots instead.  The first picture is obviously of the homecoming dance (note the banner), which was filmed in my old middle school, and was my first day of working as an extra last summer.  There I am sitting in the periwinkle blue dress to the right of Logan Lerman, who plays Charlie! In this cafeteria, fight scene screen shot (and my last day of filming), I'm the mass of hair in the back-left side of the screen, right underneath the window. Gotta love the 90's, right? ;) So there's my 15 minutes of fame.  I cannot wait for the movie to come out on September 21st!  W...

Perks News

Soooo  The Perks of Being a Wallflower trailer  just came out!!!! I'm super psyched because you can even see me in a few of the scenes (like sitting on the bleachers during the Homecoming Dance and the Lunch/Fight clips)!  I cannot wait until September when it finally hits theaters! Also, I'm on the screen in the trailer right before Emma Watson's dancing in my old middle school! Haha it seems so crazy. :) This is a super short blog, but I wanted to record the trailer's release on the actual day it came out. Woot!!!!
